Katherine (Kae) Santos
Vice President of Strategy and Operational Excellence
Katherine (Kae) Santos, MBA is the Vice President of Strategy and Operational Excellence at Legacy Lifecare. She joined Chelsea Jewish Lifecare, an affiliated organization of Legacy Lifecare, in 2019. In her role, Ms. Santos oversees the organization’s strategies for advancing clinical and operational excellence.
Throughout her career, Ms. Santos has established herself as a leading expert in healthcare quality and performance improvement. Prior to joining Legacy Lifecare, she spent seventeen years working in this field at Brigham Health, most recently as the Director of Service Excellence and Performance Improvement at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. Ms. Santos is Co-Director of the Safety, Quality, Informatics and Leadership Program at Harvard Medical School, a one-year certificate program for international healthcare leaders seeking to build their knowledge of healthcare innovation and improvement. She is also on the leadership board of the Massachusetts Healthcare Lean Network, a grassroots organization with over 400 members and 100 healthcare organizations across Massachusetts and New England that promotes learning within the healthcare quality and process improvement.
Ms. Santos earned a Master of Business Administration from MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Harvard University. She is a highly trained and experienced instructor of Lean, Kaizen, Work-Out, and Change Acceleration Process by GE Healthcare Performance Solutions. Kae resides in Boston with her husband, Abraham, and three sons, Benjamin, Matthew, and Jonathan.
