CEO

Babacar Diop MBA, LNHA is the CEO of Deutsches Altenheim, an affiliate of Legacy Lifecare. He joined the nonprofit in early 2023. In his role, Mr. Diop oversees comprehensive continuum of care at German Centre for Extended Care, providing post-acute inpatient and memory care; at Edelweiss Village, an assisted living community; and at Senior Place, a day program for seniors.

Babacar received a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from Texas State University and a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Texas A&M University. In addition, he holds a Nursing Home Administrator license. Babacar is well versed in clinical care and safety, regulatory compliance, fiscal management, and employee engagement. Prior to joining Deutsches Altenheim he held the position of CEO at Vibra Hospital of Western Massachusetts, a multi-site provider of both critical-care and post-acute services as well as Administrator & Senior Director of Operations for Hebrew Senior Life.

Leading with his heart in every endeavor, Babacar exemplifies compassion and commitment in his interactions with staff, residents, and families. A resident of Raynham, MA, Babacar enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons. He values integrity, diplomacy, and diversity.
